Аннотация: Spatial evolution of multifrequency fundamental and second-harmonic radiations has been studied in a transparent dispersive non-linear medium. It is shown that the system may demonstrate a spatial chaos due to the multiple competing processes of three-wave optical mixing occurring in it. For the interacting waves being light pulses, the spatial chaos results in stochasticity of their temporal envelopes. Also discussed are the conditions of experimental observation of chaos in the system considered.
