Аннотация: This book provides an analysis of actual fire occurrence in the Altai-Sayan ecoregion, levels of natural fire risk and causes of fire. The impact of fire on the flora and fauna of the Altai-Sayan ecoregion is assessed and patterns of pyrogenic succession are described. Deposited carbon stocks and fire emissions are also evaluated. A fire management strategy has been devised to assist protected areas in the effective conservation of biodiversity, rare and endangered species and communities. This publishing is a short version of the Russian-language edition.
