Аннотация: The article proposes integration of unmanned aerial vehicles, photo charting and aerial photography for the mapping of structural tectonics and jointing of pit wall rock mass and slope surface. This approach simplifies greatly structural mapping of pit wall rock mass, and enhances quality, rate, completeness and safety of data acquisition. The procedure has been tested on the northern pit wall site of Eldorado Gold Mine in the North Yenisei area in the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Using the photo charting method and UAVs, a detailed 3D model of the test site was constructed, the planes of fractures on the slope surface were identified, and their occurrence details (strike azimuth and dip angle) were found with the help of the analytical geometry techniques. The data analysis and detection of systems of joints were performed using various logs of jointing with identified systems of joints and their occurrence details. Statistical processing of the data used plotting of polygonal curves of jointing patterns with respect to the strike azimuth and dip angle. Furthermore, parameters of the structural blocks in the site were determined in order to justify strength characteristics and deformation mechanism in rock mass. The proposed procedure reliability was assessed by comparing with the earlier data obtained in the test site by conventional measurements of joints and their systems (using dip compass and measuring tape). The comparison shows the high consistency of the data. The research findings enable a conclusion on efficient applicability of UAVs in structural tectonic mapping of pit wall rock mass. © 2021 Publishing house Mining book. All rights reserved.
