Аннотация: The article is dedicated to urgent problems of the competitive development of food markets in the Siberian macroregion. The unevenness of resource supply and territorial development, the inability to provide the desired level of quality of life for the population, oftentimes poor investment attractiveness and underdeveloped territorial infrastructure, combined with strong influence of external geopolitical and economic threats, require justification and development of constructive solutions in the field of managing local food markets with an emphasis on their competitive development. Consideration of the problems of formation and development of the food market in the perspective of competitive relations allows us to provide a theoretical and methodological basis for improving the mechanisms of interaction of economic agents in order to achieve the desired quality of life of the population and sustainable development of the territory, and its goals can be interpreted not only from the point of view of balanced spending of natural resources, scientific and technological development, personal growth aimed at strengthening the capacity to satisfy human needs in the future, but also in terms of preventing threats to future development. To achieve such goals, it is often necessary to change development priorities and adjust trade policy implementation mechanisms aimed at fully satisfying the population's food needs (i.e., taking into account the required quantity and quality), developing domestic production, reducing dependence on import supplies and other factors taking into account competitive processes.
