Аннотация: The article presents the results of a study of the energy and power characteristics of linear induction machines on a furnace with molten aluminum. To determine the traction properties, three-dimensional numerical parameters of the electromagnetic field model in the Ansys Maxwell environment for a recycling furnace with a large air gap have been synthesized. As subsystems of the parametric numerical model, interchangeable modules of a three-section transverse field inductor and a three-zone longitudinal field inductor are used. In both models, an inverter low-frequency power supply is used and an equal power-to-weight ratio of linear machines is provided. For longitudinal and transverse field inductors designed in compliance with the principles of similarity, similar weight and dimensions and the same linear current load have been achieved. The simulation of the stationary electromagnetic mode of the induction complex and the force characteristics was carried out in the time-sharing mode without taking into account the influence of the hydrodynamics of the melt. The research results showed the significant superiority of the linear transverse magnetic field induction machine. © 2022 Author(s).
