Аннотация: Today more and more new monumental sculptures spring up in the streets of our city. You can find genre images, a modern interpretation of classical objects and monuments dedicated to outstanding peo- ple of the city. In most cases, visual language, gained even during the era of socialist realism. Indeed, the- se items perfectly fit the urban environment significantly enlivening it. But why just this kind of sculpture is being actively developed in Russia??The article aims to review the experience of urban space arrangement with sculptures by the exam- ple of the city of Krasnoyarsk. Also, it is compared with Europe contemporary trends in the field. The?main objective of the study is to diversify and enrich the decoration of the city combining traditional de- sign solutions with that of the latest achievements in the areas.?Russian sculptural school has rich academic traditions that must be maintained and protected. But to achieve some new results, there is a need drawing inspiration from the best European practice in order?to "step forward" towards modern technologies and innovation in arts.?
