Аннотация: A novel design of a hydrocyclone incorporating a disk deflector is proposed. This component allows the separation efficiency to be increased by reducing the probability of solid particles penetrating an outlet drain pipe, as well as improving the controlled performance of the hydrocyclone. CFD-modeling of the developed hydrocyclone was carried out along with an evaluation of the separation efficiency of the suspension on an experimental stand. Based on the obtained data, a 95 to 98% increase in the separation efficiency of mechanical impurities by a hydrocyclone with a deflector was confirmed.
