Аннотация: The article examines issues related to the gender role equality. The research into support of gender division of household labor has been under attention by sociologists, gender researchers for decades. The cross-national research into the support of gender role equalitу lagged behind. The short review of scientific publications on this problem is given in the arti- cle. It has been concluded that attitude toward gender and household labor differ across the countries and the women are more progressive then men in attitudes toward gender and divi- sion of household labor
