Аннотация: The thermodynamic calculations of possible conversions in the 'metal (iron, nickel, copper, cobalt) - water vapor' system have been carried out. Both direct vapor-oxidizing reactions and secondary ones, which can proceed among the reaction products under the given conditions, are considered. It was found that oxidation of copper, nickel and cobalt sulfide minerals by water vapor are thermodynamically impossible at T 500 K. The selective oxidation of iron sulfides is possible over nonferrous metal sulfides within a range of T = 500+1000 K.
