Аннотация: A model of the motion of the microdrop fraction in a high-temperature plasma of the near-cathode region of a vacuum arc is presented. Mathematically, the model is presented in the form of a system of nonlinear differential heat equations of the second order. The solution of the presented system of equations was carried out by the finite element method in two coordinates in numerical form using the COMSOL Multiphysics program. The solution showed that a drop with a diameter of up to 10 μm evaporates efficiently during the time the micro-droplet fraction is in the plasma of the near-cathode region of the low-pressure arc discharge #CSOC1120. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.
