Аннотация: Article is devoted to a problem of social control of correction of the identity of the minor who entered the conflict with the law. Contains the generalized material about conditions of keeping and education of the minors placed in the Krasnoyarsk educational corrective labor colony and the Irkutsk corrective and educational shelter for minors of P. P. Sukachyov. At the end of XIX - the beginning of the XXth centuries in the extensive territory of Eastern Siberia it were the only institutions where the prison mode was replaced with educational and labor influence, spiritual and moral education and training of the minor. Article is based on set of the published and unpublished (archival) sources, research literature which is thematically connected with the taken-up question. Preliminary conclusions are reduced to the fact that the result of work of a corrective and educational institution depended on personal and professional abilities, skills of personnel, understanding to them problems of corrective education, the correct organization of pedagogical process to a large extent. The obtained data promote creation of complete idea of the level of development of correctional facilities of the Russian society and the Siberian society in particular, liquidate territorial disproportions in the studied subject, expand opportunities for comparative researches.
