Fundamental chemical training as a basis for professional training of bachelor of metallurgy

Аннотация: In the context of the modern requirements of industry and society to the engineer training the purpose of this study was to improve the quality of chemical training of metallurgists bachelor’s undergraduates through modernizing the content, designing and filling the innovative educational environment, taking into account the educational needs of modern students. The methodological basis of the study consists of competency-based, information- and-activity-based and environmental approaches. In the course of the study the analysis of normative documents, foreign and domestic literature, educational practice was carried out. In the conducted pedagogical experiment testing, an author’s diagnostic criteria-level map were used. The component analysis of the obtained educational results with subsequent processing using statistical methods was carried out. A system of fundamental chemical training (FCT) of bachelors of metallurgy has been developed. The central part of the system is the information-andactivity educational environment (IAEE) of blended learning, providing the development of components of professional competence, chemical competence, the development of generalized methods of activity, the development of professionally significant qualities, including critical thinking. The electronic component of IAEE contains a variety of information resources placed in elearning courses (ELC) developed by the teacher in a learning management system (LMS) and allows to monitor and coordinate students’ independent work. The system provides for the modernization of the course of lectures, laboratory and practical classes through the use of technology for the development of critical thinking, information and communication technology (ICT), research and development technology. The results of the pedagogical experiment confirm the efficiency of the developed system due to the availability of information resources for bachelors at a convenient time for them, the possibility of constructing an individual learning trajectory of mastering the material, the possibility of obtaining advice, discussing inaccuracies, mistakes made in completed tasks placed in ELC. © 2019, "Ore and Metals" Publishing house.
