Missionary trips were carried out on the territory of the Yenisei diocese from the Arctic Ocean to the borders of China. In this study, the journal is considered as a source on the ethno-cultural dynamics of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North in the late XIX - early XX centuries due to the fact that it contains a large factual material related to the number, gender composition, religion, and ethnic identity. As a methodological basis, we choose a systematic approach and a method of content analysis that allows us to identify key and important definitions for analyzing the state and changes in the composition of ethnic and cultural groups of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North. The authors of the article selected an array of texts published in 1884-1917, so the article covers a long period-from imperial to revolutionary. The results of the study are conclusions about the changing composition of the indigenous population, the difficult conditions of the traditional way of life, and that ethnic and cultural groups had no idea how to improve them. At the same time, it follows from the analysis of the reports that the indigenous population had a high level of adaptability. And such missionary trips were one of the factors of ethno-cultural dynamics in connection with the emerging new information among the indigenous population.
