Аннотация: We proposed ways to solve the issues by applying the latest learning models used in the formal and informal education processes, in particular, the methods of case study, brainstorming, gamification, and mass open online courses; considered the relevance of using the methods and their implementation in the economic and business education; and provided examples of successful application of the state-of-the-art teaching modes in Russia. The study has shown that a more thorough implementation of the theoretical background of the education process can be achieved by combining innovative and conventional methods. The obtained results can be used in developing curricula and education programs, as well as in the process of bringing the education system of the Russian Federation in compliance with the modern requirements.
