Аннотация: This paper analyzes approaches to the variability of education in Russia, the implementation of the idea of variability in the field of higher professional education. The understanding of the variability of education as a fundamental principle of the development of the modern education system is presented. The possibilities of implementing the principle of variability of education at various levels are considered. The features of the transition of the organization of the educational process to an individually oriented organization of the educational process are listed.
