Investigation of hard alloys serviceability at machining with cooling lubricants

Аннотация: The examination results of structural state and serviceability of non-turned-down poligon cutting plates made of tungsten carbide, titanium and tungsten carbides are presented in the paper. Also the plates made of hard metals WC-Co hardened by ultradisperse particles of Al2O3 were investigated too. The structural state was analysed by ultrasonic measuring complexes. The complexes were operated in the internal friction (IF) and acoustic emission (AE) mode. The serviceability of cutting plates serviceability was studied while turning them in cooling lubricant. The IF level of standard hard alloys was found to change from 4,01*10(-5) to 29,01*10(-5) and of alloys with additions of Al2O3 from 6,13*10(-5) to 15,02*10(-5). It shows the considerable structural heterogeneity of the cutting plates. But the level of IF in disperse-hardened cutting plates is less in 2 times than in standard ones. It allows to assume their higher serviceability, The interrelation of energy dissipation and serviceability parameters was the main base for the use of IF as quality criterion.
