Аннотация: We apply a Hall MHD model assuming a finite conductivity for simulation of magnetic reconnection in a thin layer near the magnetopause. The outer boundary conditions are set at the magnetic barrier region which parameters are obtained from the model of ideal MHD flow around the magnetosphere. The inner boundary conditions for reconnection layer are relevant to the inner magnetospheric region adjacent to the magnetopause. Magnetic reconnection rate is determined by the finite conductivity of plasma, which value is corresponding to Bohm diffusion. Numerical simulation of magnetic reconnection is performed in case of southward interplanetary magnetic field for solar wind Alfven-Mach number about 10. Numerical simulations of the reconnection region yield tangential electric field and normal magnetic field components at the magnetopause. The obtained results indicate acceleration of plasma in the reconnection region to the maximum value of the order of the Alfven speed. The By component of the magnetic field has a quadrupole structure due to influence of the Hall term in the magnetic induction equation. The obtained quasi-stationary reconnection rate corresponding to the Bohm conductivity is about 0.16. In case of non-stationary process, the reconnection rate can be even larger.
