Аннотация: A progressive technology for preparing charges composed of components having different strengths has been proposed and undergone testing in the raw-materials shop at the Achinsk Alumina Combine. The technology involves preliminary comminution of the harder component. Trial use of the method over many years at the combine has brought its productivity up to the level originally planned and made it possible to recover larger quantities of the useful components of the ore. The results of the trials have corroborated the results of theoretical studies directed toward finding an efficient scheme for preparation of the charge. It is recommended that the laws which were found to govern the joint comminution of minerals differing in strength be taken into consideration in the design of new plants.
