Аннотация: Reconstruction of small scale subsurface heterogeneities by scattered seismic waves is one of the key directions of the modern seismic techniques, providing an essential increase in resolution and information content of seismic images. Its successful development requires a further research in two main areas:-Accurate numerical simulation of scattered waves;-Improvement of the imaging procedures and interpretation of the images obtained on the basis of the deep understanding of peculiarities of a scattering process. We present the results in both areas: numerical simulation for 3D heterogeneous multiscale media and imaging of synthetic and real field data. Taking into account the knowledge obtained by imaging of synthetic data the interpretation of real data processing is done and verified.
