Аннотация: A version of the two-dimensional model of the global ionospheric conductor is created using the approximation of an infinite field-aligned conductivity. Under this assumption the magnetic field lines are equipotential, and charge transfer between them is determined only by integral Pedersen and Hall conductivities. The model is the first approximation in the small parameter expansion of the solution of three-dimensional problems of electrical conductivity. The small parameter is the ratio of Pedersen and field-aligned conductivities. The original spatial distribution of conductivity is calculated on the basis of empirical models IRI, MSISE, IGRF. Low-latitude part of the model is compared with the thin-shell model. It is visually confirmed that the thin-shell model cannot be used in low latitudes. In the middle and high latitudes the model with infinite field-aligned conductivity wins by wider conditions of applicability. The model is created to implement the boundary conditions in a model of the magnetosphere or to calculate the electric fields and currents in frame of general models of the ionosphere.
