Аннотация: Drilling in complicated-structure rocks with depth-wise variable physico-mechanical properties is often affected by high impact loading and vibration that result in increased repeated stress over the drill tool. It is possible to escape durability degradation of drill bits by raising their strength and reliability, or by introducing a new element to balance the impact loading, or else by applying an adaptable rotary-feed mechanism capable to early detect alteration of rock properties and duly adjust drilling regime. After the theoretical research and experimental analysis, mechanical characteristics of the adaptable rotary-feed mechanism of drilling machine were obtained. The adaptable rotary-feed mechanism will allow taking advantage of a narrow gap between stresses in rolling bodies and ultimate strength of material, owing to which durability of rolling drill bits will greatly increase at the same or even higher capacity of drilling machine. Majority of available rotary-feed mechanisms lack the special-purpose system adaptable to alteration of rock properties. The author describes designs of the adaptable rotary-feed mechanisms applicable with the modernized existing rotary drilling machines and with the newly designed rock drills.
