Аннотация: The attractiveness of public spaces conditions by a balanced development of the three main areas of the subject material and the city: the social, economic and environmental. Formation of public open spac- es of modern cities, came to the post-industrial phase of development depends on the processes of devel- opment of small and medium-sized businesses, as demonstrated by the comparative analysis of the open spaces of cities in Germany. Areas of commercial activities and small manufacturing integrated into the urban space of radically change not only the look of populated areas, the spatial redistribution of the places of employment, but in theory should form an effective force participants commercial-production process that affects the material and subject matter of the environment and the emergence of new forms of relations between the private and public interest in the open space of the city.
