Photochemical activity and quenching of fluorescence of chlorophyll in pea chloroplasts

Аннотация: The authors have investigated the character of the link between fluorescence at ? 618 m?, the Hill reaction and the non-cyclic photophosphorylation in different conditions of conjugation and light intensity. At the same time they calculated the efficiency of the utilization of the energy of the excited state of chlorophyll in the Hill reaction. It is shown that rise in the fraction of the conjugated transport (± ADP) increases the efficiency of the reaction of reduction of K3Fe· ·(CN)6. Addition of the latter at high light intensities leads to the appearance of induction transitions of fluorescence. With complete reduction of the acceptor, the fluorescence does not reach the control level (effect depends on ± ADP, DCMI and NH4Cl). The presence of a link between the level of fluorescence not only with the rate of the Hill reaction but also the reactions of conjugation on non-cyclic photophosphorylation through the formation of the intermediate macroergic state is postulated. A scheme is proposed of the possible channels of the link of the level of fluorescence of chlorophyll with electron transport and the stages of conjugation in the pea chloroplasts. © 1975.
