Аннотация: The living environment is the main factor of impact on the person, human thinking. It is in a inhab- ited area is laid social and spiritual basis of personality that requires a special approach to its transfor- mation. The landscape of inhabited territories becomes a basis of modern methodology of environmental design; the environmental link uniting people, their requirements, processes and space in time. In this connection the interdisciplinary approach to the transformation of the environment has deep socially sig- nificant character.In the report ecological and social approaches to design of a landscape of the inhabited environ- ment are analyzed on examples of implementation of programs of social planning, and as well as the real- ized projects of public spaces of the inhabited territories based on the concept "Landscape urbanism".Professional design, construction and public activity in open territories of inhabited formations hasto be directed on restoration of natural and cultural identity, creation of the pro-social motives inducing inhabitants to active participation in these processes that as a whole will lead to development of human- istic consciousness and ecological morals of society as a whole.
