Аннотация: In Russia, coal mining in its northern regions is carried out by surface mining. As a result of mining operations, large-scale destruction of natural landscapes occurred on an area of more than 8500 ha. Based on the results of remote sensing, it was concluded that the vegetation cover of rock heaps dumped during the development of coal deposits is low in vegetation. For the climatic conditions of the northern territories with open coal mining, a set of works on mining and biological land reclamation is proposed. © Collective of authors, 2020.
